Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026 · Applies to all Linkup users

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Linkup collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and the choices you have over it. We collect the minimum we need to help you find and connect with people nearby, and we don't sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers.

2. What we collect

Profile info
Name, date of birth, gender, who you're looking to meet, photos, bio
Account info
Email address, password (encrypted), account activity
Location
Approximate location, used to show you people nearby
Usage data
Profiles you view, requests you send or receive, messages with your connections
Device info
Device type, app version, general diagnostics for fixing bugs
Payment info
Handled by our payment processor — see Section 6

3. How we use it

  • To show you relevant profiles nearby and let you send and receive connection requests.
  • To review new profiles and keep bots and fake accounts off the platform.
  • To respond to reports, enforce our community rules, and keep the app safe.
  • To send you account and service updates — like a reminder before your membership ends.
  • To fix bugs and improve how Linkup works.

4. Location data

Linkup uses your approximate location to show you people nearby and to show them you're nearby too. We never display your exact address or precise coordinates to other users — only an approximate distance or area. You can turn off location access in your device settings at any time, though this will limit how well Linkup can find people near you.

5. What we share, and with whom

We don't sell your personal data. We share information only in these situations:

  • With other users — the profile info you choose to add is visible to people you match the criteria to be shown to.
  • With service providers — companies that help us run Linkup, like cloud hosting and payment processing, under confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons — if required by law, or to investigate a safety report or violation of our terms.

6. Payment information

When you subscribe to Connecting membership, your payment is handled directly by our third-party payment processor. Linkup does not store your card or bank details on our own servers — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your profile and account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile from view immediately and delete your personal data within a reasonable period afterward, except where we're required to retain certain records (like payment and safety records) for legal or safety purposes.

8. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete most of your information directly from your account settings. You can also ask us to:

  • Send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Tell you more about how a specific piece of data is used.

To make one of these requests, reach out using the contact details in Section 12.

9. Keeping your data secure

We use encryption and access controls to protect your information, and we limit who on our team can see user data to those who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data against unauthorized access.

10. Age restriction

Linkup is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we remove accounts and associated data if we learn a user is underage.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Linkup grows. If we make a significant change to how we handle your data, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
